1980 to 1987: Held the positions of Controls Manager, Project
Estimator and Project Cost Engineer at Brown & Root U.S.A.,
Inc., Houston, Texas. Brown & Root is one of the nation's
largest engineering, construction, and construction management
firms. As Controls Manager, was responsible for all estimating,
scheduling and cost engineering functions of assigned projects.
Worked in both the estimating and cost engineering departments
before becoming a controls manager. Experience covered numerous
types of projects (petrochemical plants, offshore oil platforms,
pulp and paper mills, mining facilities, cement plants, etc.).
These were both foreign and domestic projects. The largest
project assigned to as Controls Manager was $230,000,000,
and had over 2,000 craftsman at the jobsite when the manpower
requirements peaked.
1975
to 1980: Held the position of assistant professor in Construction
Technology at the University of Southern Mississippi.
